Level IV Trauma Center
What Inspires You?
Striving for the Future
Unexpected traumatic injuries can upend and even threaten life. Providence St. Mary Medical Center is making a leap forward in improving care for our community by striving to become a Level 4 Trauma Center.
The importance of a Level 4 Trauma Center lies in its ability to provide advanced trauma life support and immediate care and stabilization so injured patients can be safely transported to comprehensive trauma centers (Levels 1 and 2) when necessary. This critical step in the care continuum can make all the difference in the outcome of a traumatic injury.

Our Help is Here campaign will work with community programs aimed at closing that gap, including a focus on shifting the perception around mental health care. Providence has also developed its own free school program, Work to be Well, that is student-led.Addressing the Mental Health Crisis
In response to concerns of increased mental health crisis, the hospital started a suicide navigation grant program, assisting youth in crisis. The hospital invested to stabilize local food, housing, and health programs. The COVID crisis is informing county and local governments that neighborhood vulnerabilities are readily apparent.A donation makes a difference. Here’s proof.
Striving for the Future
“Supporting Providence St. Mary in our quest to become a Level IV trauma center means we are investing in our own safety and that of our loved ones,” says Nicole Orr, chief philanthropy officer. “It means providing a lifeline for those facing traumatic injuries, ensuring they receive the care they need when every minute counts.”
Hope Grows Here
Our 32nd annual Celebration was a huge success, raising over $282,000 to support our newly established internal medicine residency program, attracting the best and brightest new physicians to our area. Funds raised will also support other critical initiatives, including our efforts to become a Level IV trauma center and our commitment to establishing our Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) program.
Educating Tomorrow's Leaders
Providence St. Mary Medical Center has officially applied for accreditation for an internal medicine residency program, a move that promises new educational opportunities to help alleviate a nationwide doctor shortage and improve access to care.
