“Our experience at St. Mary’s was great. My son was very happy with his care, which is saying a lot considering he’s an RRT. He was thankful for the care he received.”
The Doctors Are In
Welcoming our new resident physicians to the High Desert
We’re thrilled to introduce our inaugural class of internal medicine residents to Providence St. Mary Medical Center. These ten exceptional physicians have chosen to train and make a difference right here in the High Desert. Many already call Southern California home, and all are passionate about serving our community. If you see one of them at a local coffee shop, out hiking or at the gym, be sure to say hello and help us make them feel welcome!
From Training to Belonging
The Roots in the High Desert Fund is a warm welcome and a lasting invitation to our new residents. Created to help them feel at home in the High Desert, this donor- supported initiative provides each resident with a $2,000 annual stipend to foster deeper connections with the community. Whether it’s joining a local gym, signing the kids up for Little League or becoming part of a civic or cultural group, the fund supports activities that enrich residents’ lives beyond the hospital walls and inspires them to stay here long after their training ends.
Founded by donors Niki Balginy and Derrick and Jill Sandwick, owners of Crazy Horse Holdings, the fund reflects a shared commitment to building a healthier, more connected future.
“We believe in the power of community,” say Derrick and Jill Sandwick. “The more these residents feel like this is home, the more likely they are to stay and continue making a difference here.”
Together, we’re not just growing medical careers, we’re helping them put down roots.
