We are impacting lives in Orange County everyday with the generous support of donors.

“Our experience at St. Mary’s was great. My son was very happy with his care, which is saying a lot considering he’s an RRT. He was thankful for the care he received.”
Investing In Our Nurses
TIP program provides professional development for new and experienced nurses
Providence St. Mary Medical Center invests in its caregivers by providing our nurses with the Providence California Clinical Academy’s Transition into Practice (TIP) program.
TIP Nurse Residency and Fellowship programs emphasize interprofessional, collaborative and patient-centered care. Through TIP, nurses receive clinical coaching focused on building practice-based clinical skills, effective patient and family communication, advanced knowledge in evidence-based nursing practice and much more.
The TIP Residency program is designed to support new graduates in progressing from education to practice as they transition into their first professional nursing roles. The TIP Fellowship program is designed to assist experienced nurses in advancing into new clinical specialties.
“Providence nurses are committed to delivering world-class, compassionate care,” says Randy Castillo, chief executive at Providence St. Mary Medical Center. “Supporting them in reaching their maximum potential contributes to their success in caring for our patients, families, communities and each other. We are grateful for Providence investing in our nurses by offering this program.”
Earning top honors
The Providence Nursing Institute Clinical Academy Residence program has recently been awarded accreditation, the highest recognition by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
The TIP curriculum and experience created by our Clinical Academy team earned the full three-year accreditation for practice transition programs. This means our nursing residency program for nurses with less than 12 months of experience exceeds the global standards for preparing our nurses to transition to a new care setting.
