St. Mary Foundation Announces 28th Annual Gala Fundraiser to Purchase Cardiac Monitors
SUMMER 2019 — St. Mary Medical Center is the only nonprofit hospital to serve the High Desert and the Foundation’s goal this year is to raise $350,000 to purchase 42 new cardiac monitors for the Emergency Department. In 2018, the Emergency Department cared for over 91,000 patients and the majority required cardiac monitoring.
In addition to being a STEMI Receiving Center, St. Mary Medical Center is the only hospital in the high desert designated as a Stroke Receiving Center. A cardiac monitor is the most essential tool the hospital utilizes to diagnose an individual’s heart condition, and it is crucial to get the highest quality visual of the heart’s rhythm to identify cardiac issues quickly when time is of the essence. Emergency Department care providers rely on cardiac monitors to save lives.
The Foundation will hold its 28th Annual Gala on Saturday, October 19, 2019, at the Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center in Victorville. The Gala Committee is led this year by Co-Chairs Cindy Bostick and Margaret Curran. Committee members include Carrie Dixon, Suzanne Freehling, Jeanette Gehrke, Dondi Hale, Jon Hove, Cheryl Langille, Tina McClain, Miriam Munoz, Angie Nunez, Pilar Perez, Cheryl Sislo, Margaret Smith, Rosanne Smith, Rosie Smolinsky, Angela Sorrell, Andrea Tober, Kristi Wernegreen and Beverly Williams.
If you have questions or need additional information about how you can help support the Gala, please contact Lezli Roberts at the Foundation office at (760) 946-8189 or by email at lezli.roberts@stjoe.org.
